About Abandoned Mineshafts
Abandoned Mineshafts are underground structures consisting of long corridors supported by wooden beams, rails, and occasional chests and cave spider spawners.
They are a great source of wood, rails, torches, cobwebs, and loot from minecart chests. Be wary of cave spiders, especially near spawners often hidden by cobwebs.
Mineshafts generate frequently underground in most Overworld biomes, but are more common and can generate at higher elevations in Badlands (Mesa) biomes.
This finder shows the starting point (X, Z) where a Mineshaft structure begins to generate. The actual structure extends outwards from this point.
How to Use
- Enter Seed: Type your Minecraft world seed (or load from `level.dat`).
- Select Version: Choose the correct Minecraft version.
- Explore Map: The map will load, highlighting potential Mineshaft starting points with minecart icons.
- Drag: Click and drag to move.
- Zoom: Use mouse wheel or zoom slider.
- Go To Coordinates: Enter X and Z block coordinates.
- Get Mineshaft Coordinates: Interact with a highlighted marker (hover/click/tap) to see the approximate starting coordinates below the map. You will need to dig down to find the corridors.
- Toggle Grid: Use the "Grid Lines" checkbox.
Map Controls Summary:
Mouse: Drag (move), Wheel (zoom), Right-click (set pin/get coords), Double-click (expand map).
Keyboard: Arrow keys (move map), R (randomize seed), Esc (exit expanded view).
Touchscreen: Drag (move), Pinch (zoom), Tap (get coords), Tap & Hold (set pin/get coords), Double-tap (expand map).
