๐ŸงชBackground & Spawning Info

Apart from spawning in swamps, slimes can spawn in special chunks called "Slime Chunks" (roughly 1 in 10 chunks). Chunks are 16x16 areas that extend from the bottom to the top of the world. Slime Chunks are determined by your world seed.

Does Slime Finder work with Bedrock Edition?

Yes! Make sure to select Bedrock as the version.

Does it work in superflat worlds?

Yes.

No slimes are spawning in my slime chunk!

Slimes spawn less often than many other mobs, even in slime chunks. Ensure you've waited long enough and double-check the seed and coordinates. Also consider:

  • Slimes only spawn below Y=40 (feet position) in Slime Chunks.
  • Mobs won't spawn within 24 blocks of the player. Stand further away from your desired spawn area.
  • Hollow out a large room (at least 16x16x3) below Y=40 to maximize spawning space.
  • Light up the area thoroughly to prevent other hostile mobs from spawning and taking up the mob cap. Light doesn't affect slime spawning in Slime Chunks. Avoid placing torches directly on the spawning floor. Jack-o'-lanterns or covered light sources are good options.
  • If spawning seems stuck, move ~128 blocks away and return to potentially despawn distant mobs that might be filling the mob cap.
  • Mobs cannot spawn on bedrock blocks.
  • Slimes do not spawn on Peaceful difficulty.
  • Slimes do not spawn in Mushroom Island biomes, even if the chunk is marked as a Slime Chunk.

๐Ÿ’ก How to Use

  1. Enter Seed: Type your Minecraft world seed into the "Seed" input box. You can use numbers or text. Use the `/seed` command in-game (Java/Bedrock with permissions) or load from `level.dat` (Java only, via drag-and-drop or button if enabled).
  2. Select Version: Choose Java or Bedrock Edition.
  3. Explore Map: The map will load, highlighting Slime Chunks in green.
    • Drag: Click and drag the map to move.
    • Zoom: Use your mouse wheel or the zoom slider.
    • Go To Coordinates: Enter X and Z block coordinates (not chunk coordinates) and click "Go".
    • Identify Chunks: Hover your mouse over the map to see block coordinates. Slime Chunks are the green squares.
  4. Toggle Grid: Use the "Grid Lines" checkbox to show/hide chunk borders.
